Terms of Service

Please read these Terms carefully before using Loventide. By creating an account you agree to be bound by them.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Loventide mobile application ("App") operated by Loventide ("we", "us"). By accessing or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Age Requirement

You must be 18 years of age or older to use Loventide. Loventide is a romantic couples application intended exclusively for adults. By creating an account you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old. If we discover that a user is under 18, we will terminate the account immediately.

3. Account Registration

To use Loventide you must create an account with a valid email address and a secure password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it updated.

You may pair your account with one partner at a time. Pairing is done via an invite code. You are responsible for only sharing your invite code with your intended partner.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the App to:

Harass, abuse, threaten, or harm another person.
Upload or share content that is illegal, defamatory, obscene, or infringes third-party intellectual property rights.
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or our systems.
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or create derivative works from the App.
Use automated bots or scrapers against the App.
Use the App for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these rules.

5. User Content

"User Content" means anything you upload or create in the App — journal entries, letters, voice notes, photos, videos, quiz answers, and other content.

You retain all intellectual property rights in your User Content. By uploading it you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and transmit it solely for the purpose of delivering the App's features to you and your partner. We do not use your User Content for advertising, AI training, or any other purpose.

You are solely responsible for the content you share. Do not upload content you do not have the right to share.

6. Subscriptions & In-App Purchases

Loventide offers free and premium features. Premium access is available through an auto-renewing subscription or one-time in-app purchases processed by Apple App Store or Google Play, with subscription management via RevenueCat.

Billing: Your payment method is charged at the time of purchase and at the start of each renewal period.
Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time via your device's App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds are issued for the remaining period.
Refunds: Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple; for Google Play purchases by Google. We do not control these refund processes. Contact support@loventide.app if you have a billing dispute you believe we can help resolve.
Price changes: We may change subscription prices. We will notify you before any price change takes effect and give you the option to cancel.

7. Gem Economy

Loventide may offer "Gems", a virtual currency earned through in-app activity or purchased via in-app purchases. Gems have no cash value and cannot be transferred, sold, or exchanged for cash. All Gem balances are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

8. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the App you agree to our Privacy Policy.

9. Intellectual Property

The Loventide name, logo, app design, and all proprietary content (excluding User Content) are our intellectual property. Nothing in these Terms grants you a right to use our trademarks or branding.

10. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES. YOUR USE OF THE APP IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL LOVENTIDE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF CONTENT, OR LOSS OF PROFITS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR USD $10, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

12. Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time from the Profile tab. We may suspend or terminate your account without notice if you breach these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases and your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via a push notification or in-app notice. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
